
The Organization of Peace and Freedom held a dialogue session as part of the Reform Project in Hamdaniya on Thursday, 18 February 2021 and as part of a verification activity on the validation of the individual protection and Prevention of Discrimination, which is scheduled to be presented to the Parliament this year.
The session was held in Hamdaniya district in the presence of a group of civil activists, human rights workers and a number of lawyers and legal experts.
The positive and negative aspects and the gaps in the draft law were discussed and examined and referred to the most important recommendations that must be achieved in the law before it is approved for deleting and adding some amendments in proportion to the general situation of this issue in Hamdaniya in particular and Iraq in general.
The importance of approving this law had shed light on, which was previously discussed by the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Therefore, the importance of follow-up and pressure on decision makers to speed up the enactment of this law, especially since Iraq has participated in united nations reports to eliminate racial discrimination.
The project is being implemented by the Peace and Freedom organization in cooperation with International Organization.
