
The director of Peace and Freedom Organization (Mr. Abdullah Khalid) and the Minister of the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Republic of Iraq (Mr. Adnan Dirjal), and with the presence of the general director of the coordination and follow-up department (Mr. Akram Nahim Atwan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 30/11/2021.
This signed MoU is intended to improve coordination between both sides to increase youth participation in societal affairs, build their capacity on peacebuilding, security protection, and human rights and freedoms.
Mr. Dirjal reiterated the necessity of attention that should be paid to youth simply because they are a big portion of the Iraqi society. He also addressed that the Iraqi young people should be included in programs that help to build their capacity.
The director of Peace and Freedom Organization from his side also appreciated all the efforts made by the Minister and his team to coordinate with the CSOs to provide capacity building and participation opportunities for the Iraqi youth.
The signed MoU includes varies activities as part of different projects implemented by PFO in Iraq and KRI in partnership with international organizations. More specifically, the MoU encompasses the Musawat project in all the governorates in Iraq and KRI, the program of 2250 in all provinces in the country, the Yanhaz project in Ninevah governorate, and Tanaghum project in Kirkuk.
