Peace and Freedom in Erbil held a conference presenting the results of widening the space for civil society organizations and youth people in Iraq Project in the presence of a group of civil society organizations, youth teams, representatives of media agencies and representatives of workers unions unions in Iraq, where the workshop focused on presenting the results of the project, which was launched by Peace and Freedom organization from 2019 to 2021, Also a press conference to present the report of monitoring the situation of violations against freedom of expression in Iraq and the KRG region where these reports were written during the project, and discussed the situation of civil society and made the most important recommendations to improve the situation of civil society in Iraq


among most prominent results of the project mentioned:


1- Increasing the participation of young people and women in the joint efforts of Iraqi civil society organizations and enabling them to monitor the electoral process.


Expanding the work of civil society organizations and building coordination mechanisms and partnerships with the media and trade unions with a view to improving the relationship between civil society and these bodies, with the aim of increasing influence on the Government to improve the reality of rights and freedoms. Through memorandums of understanding between civil society and those bodies at the provincial and central government levels.
3- Enabling Iraqi civil society organizations to take advantage of digital platforms and educate the public about civic initiatives to build a stronger relationship between the public and civil society organizations.
4- Institutionalizing and increasing the monitoring of violations against human rights and freedom of expression through a group of observers and preparing reports to which national and international actors must be informed for advocacy and advocacy purposes.
