‎Peace and freedom organization has completed the second gender-sensitive reporting training on 26 February, 2022.

The participants were 15 male and female journalists from different central provinces of Iraq, representing several Iraqi media outlets. A variety of gender related topics were discussed including the importance of activating the role of media in gender equality, the influence of culture on gender roles, as well as clarifying the perspective and perception of gender.

The aim of this training was to educate and empower journalists to "write press reports, develop gender practices, and give more priorities to gender issues during their work.

Peace and Freedom organization has planned similar training for journalists from southern provinces of Iraq in the early next month. This activity is a part of "Our Voice’s” project, which is being implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization in Iraq and Kurdistan region in partnership with Internews and with the financial support of SIDA.
