
 In a side event held by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), within the Youth Forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Peace and Freedom Organization participated as a representative of the United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) and the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY).
The event been participated by youth activists and peacemakers from more than 10 countries around the world, who expressed their views and shared their aspirations for the important role of youth in implementing 2030 Agenda and making the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) possible with a joint roadmap between youth and their governments around the world with the support of international agencies and INGOs, and CSOs supervision and implementation on the ground.
Peace and Freedom Organization shared its vision on the importance of meaningful participation of youth in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and what it considers to be key priorities for comprehensive youth development and partnerships for sustainable development, in addition to the approach to meaningful participation of youth in peacebuilding and decision-making processes. Finally, the discussion highlighted the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (Youth, Peace and Security) and its importance in creating safe civil spaces that young people can use as a channel to develop and refine their skills and expertise.
