On Sunday, September 25, 2022, a five-day training course was successfully concluded for trainers in the field of cooperative work in the agricultural sector in Basra Governorate.
The training is part of the project (Improving Working Conditions and Developing Interventions at the Farm Level in the Agricultural Sector in Iraq), an International Labor Organization (ILO) project implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization with funding from the European Union.
In this training, which Conducted under the supervision of an international expert appointed by the International Labor Organization, 28 trainers successfully completed the program.
Through the five days of the training, the participants were introduced to the new concepts of cooperatives in the field of agriculture, food industry, agricultural products, cooperative principles, elements of financing through (contributions) and the distribution of shares and revenues in accordance with the mechanisms used in global experiences, those related to the principles supported and adopted by the International Labor Organization Globally successful models.
The five-day training methodology was implemented through practical implementation of the two printed guides (ThinkCoop) and (StartCoop) under the supervision of an international trainer and expert appointed by the International Labor Organization.
After the course, all participants received certificates of course completion, as seven participants were selected by the international trainer to teach the same training to 25 participants of the ToE course, which consists of date, tomato and vegetable growers, beekeepers, and livestock breeders in Basra Governorate.
