As part of the activities of its rights and freedoms program, Peace and Freedom Organization managed to organize a conference on the reality of freedom of expression in the Kurdistan region.

The conference was held on January 29, 2023, in Erbil with the attendance of journalists, activists, representatives of parliament, governmental institutions, national and international organizations, and representatives of consulates of foreign countries in Erbil.

In addition to a press conference to present the report of violations against freedom of expression, there were two separate panels to discuss freedom of press, right to access information, and reality of the work of non-governmental organizations.

Noteworthy to mention that this activity is part of the “Azadiman” project, which Peace and Freedom Organization is implementing in partnership with Un Ponte Per in the frame of Tatweer project, which is funded by the European Union.
