As part of the “Widening the Space for Civil Society organization’s project”, Peace and Freedom Organization-PFO has managed a one-day workshop in Erbil to gather 20 youth from governorates in KRI, Mosul, and Kirkuk on February 9, 2023.

The activity intended to address promoting youth participation in public affairs as well as societal, political, economic and legal barriers that prevent an active participation. The roles and responsibilities of youth in climate changes issues were also highlighted.

There is a plan to organize similar activity in Baghdad and Basra for young people from central and southern governorates to enrich and finalize a list of suggestions and recommendations aiming at promoting youth participation in public affairs to be delivered to the stakeholders.

Noteworthy to mention that, PFO has been implementing this project in partnership with Norwegian People Aid-NPA and financially supported by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency-SIDA.
