Within the framework of the project (Cultural heritage to revise tourist in Nineveh plains project) and with the support of the German Organization (GIZ), a three-day training was successfully completed under the title (Advanced Advocacy Training) for (20) participants from the Nineveh Plain in the city of Erbil from April 06 to April 08, 2023.


The main objective of this training was to prepare a group of active youth who could be members of advocacy delegations to visit the concerned authorities to discuss with them the promotion of tourism and heritage, and the promotion of environmental protection in the Nineveh Plain for peaceful and coexistence.


The materials and trainers were prepared and selected in a manner consistent with the main objective of the project, which is to promote and revive the tourism and culture sector in the Nineveh Plain to serve peace and coexistence in this region. The main items of the training included the following fields:


• Preparing a comprehensive advocacy plan
• Map of campaign supporters
• Troubleshooting advocacy campaigns
• Building a vision for advocacy
• Complement and choose tactics and strategic plans


Participants were introduced to several tools and work methods, and many previous field experiences were presented to compare and correct wrong work methods in previous advocacy campaigns. In addition, they were introduced to many theoretical and practical issues for the sustainability of advocacy campaigns.
