
Within the work of the Network of Defenders for the Rights of Nineveh Victims, the network, in cooperation with the Peace and Freedom Organization, held a three-day workshop from 9/30/2023 until 10/2/2023 in Mosul, bringing together the departments concerned with compensation transactions, to discuss ways, mechanisms and tools for transformation towards digitization and administrative procedures, because they have a significant impact in reducing many of the negatives and obstacles facing citizens, especially victims of terrorism and military operations, and hinder the protection of their right to compensation.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the compensation committees in Nineveh from Mosul, Bashiqa, Al-Hamdaniya, and Sinjar, and from Nineveh Governorate, the Directorate of Civil Status, passports and residency, the municipalities and agricultural departments from different regions of Nineveh, in addition to legal consultant. These departments discussed ways to activate digital communication and the coordination among each other. At the end of the workshop, an agreement was reached on a set of mechanisms to activate communication and coordination between them using modern technology tools.
The workshop was attended by a group of male and female citizens who have obstacles in obtaining their right to compensation. It was presented to officials, a representative of the Parliament office in Nineveh, and those responsible for the compensation file in the Nineveh Governorate Office.
