The dialogue session was held in Buhriz district - Baquba - Diyala between IDPs, host community and returnees on October 15, 2023.

The dialogue focused on the reasons for the non-return of the IDPs and how to address it. Also had been discussed the weakness of job opportunities within the displacement areas, which will enhance voluntary safe return.

The attendees also focused on proposing solutions to the problems facing the area, such as providing drinking water and agriculture, as the area suffers from water scarcity. As well as establishing national reconciliation initiatives between returnees, displaced persons and the host community, and holding training courses for youth on professions and livelihoods.

This session was implemented within the project to build peace and stability in Iraq din partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and with the support of FCDO.
