
The Voices of Justice in Ninawa network (October 11, 2023), in cooperation with the Voice for Women’s Rights teams, implemented an information session on sustainable development in Iraq.
The focus was on reviewing and discussing the measures taken by the Iraqi government in the field of sustainable development, with a special highlight on the fifth goal, which relates to achieving gender equality. The efforts made by the government to provide equal opportunities and to overcome gender gaps in various vital areas were highlighted.
Gender gaps in health, economics, politics and education:
The existing gender gaps in various vital sectors were reviewed and discussed, with a focus on how to reduce these gaps and achieve equality.
The challenges facing sustainable development efforts in Iraq were also reviewed, as well as a focus on future opportunities and plans to promote sustainable development.
This activity comes within the Transformative Justice Project in Nineveh, which is implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization with the support of the Dutch PAX Peace Organization.
