dialogue session on “Challenges Facing Returnees and IDPs and obstacles to safe return”on February 19, 2024, Peace and Freedom Organization held a dialogue session in Dubz district in the presence of activists, mukhtars, returnees, and IDPs about the obstacles of safe return after displacement.


in the session had been discussed the challenges facing the IDPs that prevent their return to their areas, as well as the obstacles facing the returnees are facing regarding stability. The attendees of the session also discussed the most important problems, which include the lack of job opportunities and the failure to receive fair compensation, and there is no support from the government for the agricultural and livestock for the returnees and IDPs, as most of the areas affected by the conflict are rural areas that depend on agriculture and livestock.

 

At the conclusion of the session, the participants presented ideas for possible initiatives to be implemented for ensure the safe return of IDPs and enhance integration among society. They also encourage the role of civil society organizations and the importance of projects that enhance stability, integration, and the safety of citizens.
