Peace and Freedom Organization in Erbil organized a workshop on writing a policy paper on social cohesion and integration covering Nineveh, Kirkuk and Diyala, with the attendance of stakeholders and influential figures from the three governorates.
Over two days, 18 - 19 September 2024, the local context was analysed and identified the priorities, with focusing on the challenges facing social cohesion and the basic issues of stability in the three governorates. The priorities of social groups, including women, youth, minorities and people with special needs were also addressed, at the end of the workshop had been discussed the solutions and respond to the roles of community groups to enhance social cohesion in the three governorates.
The workshops included open discussions with participants and working groups to analyse each local context and present the working groups
This workshop was implemented within Building Peace and Stability in Iraq project by Peace and Freedom Organization and in cooperation with Al-Tahreer Association in partnership with the International Rescue Committee and with the support of FCDO
