On September 28, 2024, the People and Freedom Organization organized an awareness session on the status of civil society in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. This session included representatives from various governmental bodies, particularly from the Directorate of Non-Governmental Organizations in the Kurdistan Region, as well as representatives from the Ministries of Interior, Religious Endowments, Labor and Social Affairs, Culture, Health, and independent bodies such as the Independent Human Rights Commission, the Environmental Protection Authority, and the Independent Integrity Commission.
The successful session held in Erbil focused on a comprehensive study of civil society, including its history, development, and legal aspects. The event brought together 25 representatives from different government entities, facilitating a fruitful dialogue on the vital role of civil society in our communities.
