From August 22 to September 13, 2024, Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO), supported by Norwegian People’s Aid and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, held series of training all over Iraq.
Over 19 days, 351 young men and women from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds came together to strengthen their understanding of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and their role in peacebuilding and decision-making.
These sessions were led by young facilitators trained by PFO, reflecting the organization’s dedication to promoting youth engagement in peace and security across the country and lay the corner stone toward an inclusive national action plan that adopts YPS agenda in Iraq.
It is worth mentioning that representatives of government were also present at these sessions, which were held in cooperation with the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional Governments.
