Kirkuk – On October 5, 2024, the Humanitarian Relief Association for Turkmen Women in Iraq, in collaboration with Peace and Freedom Organization, organized a training workshop titled "Enhancing Community Cohesion through Promoting Peace," as part of the "JISRA" initiatives aimed at building bridges of communication and dialogue among the various components of Iraqi society.
 
 
Representatives from civil society organizations, activists, professional unions, and government employees participated in the workshop. The initiative was led by a specialized trainer and focused on the importance of peaceful coexistence in the city of Kirkuk, which represents a model of cultural and ethnic diversity in Iraq. The workshop addressed how to create safe spaces for constructive dialogue among the different components of the community in the city and worked on promoting concepts of peace and reconciliation.
 
The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the participants, who exchanged ideas and experiences regarding the challenges facing the community in Kirkuk and how to turn these challenges into opportunities to strengthen the social fabric. Practical initiatives were also presented to enhance dialogue and mutual understanding among different groups, in order to promote social peace and achieve stability in the region.
 
This initiative comes as part of the efforts of the Organization for Peace and Freedom and its partners to create a participatory environment that contributes to building a brighter and more peaceful future for Kirkuk, encouraging the adoption of sustainable coexistence mechanisms that support stability and cohesion in the community.
 
It is worth mentioning that this activity was organized by the Humanitarian Relief Association for Turkmen Women in Iraq in partnership with tPeace and Freedom Organization and under the Participatory Grant-Making in JISRA (PGM in JISRA).
