From October 3 to 5, 2024, Shaqlawa hosted a gathering of 30 young men and women from various ethnicities and religions, coming from Sinjar, Kirkuk, Sheikhan, and the Nineveh Plains, as part of the "Youth Bridge to Peace" camp. The camp aimed to promote peace and the principle of accepting the other among youth, building bridges of communication, and enhancing shared values.
During these three vibrant days, the youth participated in workshops, open discussions, a mountain trip, a joint reading, and cinema viewing with a discussion of the film events.
Topics related to peacebuilding and interfaith dialogue within the social and legislative context of Iraqi laws were discussed, as well as how to activate mechanisms for effective communication with youth to create community initiatives.
This camp is part of the JISRA project implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization in partnership with Mensen met een Missie.
