Titled “Together We Work to Build Sustainable Peace,” a delegation from the Peace and Freedom Organization, part of the JISRA Project in partnership with the Search for Common Ground Organization, launched this initiative on October 11, 2024, at the Lalish Temple . The delegation, comprising members from various religious communities in Kirkuk, Alqosh, and Shekhan District, participated in the Yazidi ceremonies to foster peaceful coexistence and deepen their understanding of the Yazidi Religion.
Key participants included youth, women, and religious leaders from Muslim, Christian, Yazidi, and Mandaean backgrounds, all of whom played significant roles during the visit. The delegation met with Mir Hazim, head of the Spiritual Council, and Mir Haj Hassan Zainal, who expressed their commitment to supporting the organization’s peacebuilding efforts.
Additionally, the group met with Ms. Mian Khatun, a prominent religious leader representing Yazidi women in Shiekhan District. She proposed organizing interfaith dialogue sessions for women, aimed at strengthening trust and mutual understanding among the region's diverse religious communities, further advancing the cause of peaceful coexistence
