Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) and the Iraqi Human Rights Watch Association (IHRW) within TATWEER (Development) Civil Society Capacity Building Program which is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by UPP organization in partnership with the Al-Masala Organization, Al Najah Center and the Shaqofyan Organization, a second training held for representatives region for directors of human rights departments in Iraqi ministries and agencies focused on monitoring the implementation of international human rights recommendations in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, the Human Rights Department, and the Office of International Recommendations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, with representatives from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Interior, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Federal Commission of Integrity, the National Security Service, the National Security Advisor, the Counter-Terrorism Service, the Media and Communications Authority, the Popular Mobilization Authority, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture, the Federal Audit Bureau, the Iraqi Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry of Justice, the Juvenile Rehabilitation Department in the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, the National Accountability and Justice Authority, the Martyrs Foundation, the Shia Endowment Office, the Sunni Endowment Office, and the Office of Christian Religious Endowments.

 

The training took place over three days, from October 24-26, 2024, in Erbil, it included three main topics: the foundations of the human rights treaties system, national mechanisms for reporting, and practical application, challenges, and solutions. Participants actively engaged in the training sessions, driven by the desire to enhance their skills and respond professionally to international recommendations
