On August 22, 2024, the Voices of Justice Network, with the support of the Peace and Freedom Organization and the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh, organized a dialogue session for a group of women who are victims of terrorist operations from the Nimrud district.

The session aimed to enhance understanding of human rights and to introduce the stages of requesting compensation and the mechanisms for submitting complaints to the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh.

The session focused on the Compensation Law, the constitutional basis for the law, and the types of compensation for martyrs, total disability, partial disability, injuries, temporary cases, damage to property, and damage related to work and study. This was the first part of the dialogue session, which was moderated by the Deputy Director of the Office of the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh.

The second part of the discussion session, which was moderated by the head of the Monitoring, Reports and Complaints Division at the High Commission for Human Rights in Nineveh, addressed the mechanisms of complaints and how to submit them. He provided a detailed explanation to women about the role of the Commission in protecting the rights of victims and respecting their dignity in obtaining compensation and submitting complaints against everything that violates their right in the steps of submitting the official complaints. During the session, the floor was opened for discussion and listening to women victims and their suffering in submitting transactions.

Their complaints were recorded and listened to, as well as all the challenges they face. This initiative comes within the advocacy campaign for the "Power of Voices" project implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization in partnership with the PAX Organization
