
Baghdad, 17-2-2025 – Peace and Freedom Organization, in collaboration with the Iraqi Human Rights Watch Society , held the final conference for the "Ta’aon" project, which is implemented by Peace and Freedom Organization in partnership with the Iraqi Human Rights Watch Society.
This event is part of the "Tatweer” – Building the Capacities of Iraqi Civil Society" project, executed by UPP and Al-Mesalla Organization for Human Resource Development, along with their partners, funded by the European Union Delegation in Iraq.
The conference aimed to discuss the current state of civil society organizations and human rights in Iraq amid the ongoing challenges.
It saw the participation of prominent figures from the NGO sector in Iraq, as well as representatives from various non-governmental organizations across Iraqi provinces, and directors of human rights departments in ministries and Iraqi agencies responsible for monitoring the implementation of international human rights recommendations, in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice and the Human Rights Directorate.
The conference, held in Baghdad, provided an important opportunity to discuss the challenges facing Iraqi civil society organizations and human rights under the current circumstances.
