On March 18, 2025, the Peace and Freedom Organization held a discussion session titled "The Importance of the National Strategic Plan for Youth, Peace, and Security in Iraq" in the governorates of Diyala, ThiQar, and Kirkuk.

The session brought together 61 young men and women from diverse sectors and backgrounds to discuss key challenges affecting youth in their respective governorates. Participants exchanged ideas on strengthening their role in promoting peace and stability, with discussions focusing on developing youth skills in dialogue, negotiation, and peacebuilding. Additionally, the session highlighted the significance of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and the National Strategic Plan, emphasizing their role in empowering youth and reinforcing their contribution to peace and security in Iraq.

 This initiative is part of the "Enhancing Youth Participation in Peacebuilding and Security" project, implemented by the Peace and Freedom Organization, in partnership with the Norwegian People's Aid Organization, with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and in cooperation with the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
