‏On May 20, 2025, staff members from the Peace and Freedom Organization – Kirkuk Office, visited the Human Rights Commission as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance institutional cooperation and build capacities in the field of human rights.

 

‏During the visit, they met with Ms. Dhumyaa Mohammed Jasem, Director of the Commission’s office, where discussions focused on mechanisms for joint cooperation in areas of training and awareness. Special attention was given to involving commission staff and affiliated offices within state institutions in specialized training and capacity-building programs.

 

‏Both parties discussed several key topics, including digital blackmail, women’s participation in the political process, and various forms of violent extremism.

 

‏Ms. Dhumyaa emphasized the importance of these topics in light of current challenges, highlighting the rising rates of electronic blackmail. She also expressed the Commission’s full readiness to cooperate in order to strengthen joint efforts in awareness-raising and capacity development.
