On June 12, 2025, the Peace and Freedom Organization organized a dialogue session that included a number of activists and officials from Kirkuk Governorate. The session aimed to highlight the main challenges facing the community in Kirkuk, including the conditions of displaced persons, the risks threatening social cohesion, and ways to ensure safe return. It also involved discussing possible recommendations to mitigate the severity of these challenges.

During the session, participants addressed several issues, including unemployment and its consequences such as weak support for the private sector, reluctance or avoidance by business owners to register with social security, as well as the deterioration of basic services like healthcare, water shortages, and environmental pollution in some areas. In addition, political crises were discussed as a major obstacle to development across various fields.
