With the participation of a number of activists, representatives of organizations, university professors, and journalists, the Peace and Freedom Organization discussed the problems and obstacles facing the work of civil society organizations.
The session was held on October 23, 2023, in Erbil.during it Details of the (civic) media campaign -which conducted by- Peace and Freedom Organization over the past period were reviewed. The campaign included media dialogues with 26 activists and represnetative from local organizations, and were published on PFOs website and social media platforms.
The session also included, a panel discussion, presented by each of Mr. Hardi Ahmed, Deputy Head of the DNGO; Bahar Ali, Head of the Emma Organization; and Hoshyar Malo, Head of the Kurdistan Organization for Human Right watch.
During the panel topics like : the current status of civil society organizations, how to sustain and strengthen them, and the procedures and mechanisms the office follows to support these organizations been discussed.
This activity is part of an initiative project supported by the Italian organization UPP and funded by the European Union, which aims to improve the situation of civil society organizations in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
