On 12 February 2026, Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) participated in the launching ceremony of the Iraqi Women Economic Empowerment Project (IWEE), held at the Erbil Citadel Cultural Center, organized by Expertise France, and attended by the Secretary General of the High Council for Women and Development, the French Consul, representatives of the French Development Agency (AFD), and implementing partners.

PFO’s participation as an implementing partner comes within the framework of its comprehensive women’s empowerment strategy, which focuses on strengthening women’s economic capacities, supporting women’s entrepreneurship, expanding access to financial resources, and building sustainable partnerships at local and national levels.

During the event, PFO presented its vision based on an integrated approach that links training and capacity building with support to small businesses and enhanced participation of women in local economic activity, in alignment with national frameworks for women’s empowerment and contributing to sustainable development and more just and stable communities.
