From 25–27 June, Peace and Freedom Organization conducted a capacity-building training in Erbil for its Natural Resources Management Committee.

The training brought together environmental activists, along with representatives and staff from relevant government departments in Kirkuk Governorate, with the aim of strengthening their capacities in natural resource management and enhancing their skills in addressing natural resource-related conflicts. The training also sought to promote coordination and collaboration among government institutions and support ongoing governmental efforts in this field.

During the first and second days, participants covered a range of key topics, including an introduction to natural resource management and conflict, negotiation skills, advocacy skills and coalition-building, as well as the design and drafting of initiatives aimed at addressing conflicts related to natural resources.

This activity was implemented as part of the “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq” project, implemented by Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) in partnership with Un Ponte Per (UPP), with funding from the (FCDO).
