From June 25-27, the Peace and Freedom Organization in Erbil conducted a capacity-building training session for its Peace Committee in Kirkuk.

A number of activists, along with representatives and staff from government departments in Kirkuk Governorate, participated in the training. The aim was to enhance their skills in conflict management, communication, and effective negotiation, and to develop their conflict resolution abilities, thereby contributing to stronger coordination and cooperation among departments and supporting government efforts.

The training, held over two days, covered several key topics, including: an introduction to peacebuilding, negotiation skills, advocacy skills and how to build alliances, as well as preparing and writing initiatives aimed at conflict resolution.

This activity was implemented as part of the “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq” project, implemented by Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) in partnership with Un Ponte Per (UPP), with funding from the (FCDO).
