Peace and Freedom Organization organized a two-day training session in Erbil on 19–20 July 2026, bringing together 20 representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Erbil, the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the General Directorate of labor and Social Security, and Occupational Safety and Health Departments in Kirkuk, and the Ninewa Directorate of Labour and Social Affairs.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in labour inspection, social security, and occupational safety and health. The first day focused on the legal framework for labour inspection, inspectors’ roles and responsibilities, inspection procedures, reporting, and social security provisions. The second day covered occupational safety and health, risk assessment and management, inspection data analysis, and practical challenges, complemented by case studies and interactive group exercises.

The training enhanced participants’ capacity to conduct labour inspections more effectively, implement social security provisions, and promote occupational safety and health, contributing to the protection of workers’ rights and greater compliance with national labour legislation and international labour standards.
