
PFO in coordination with the Ministry of Justice / Juvenile Reform Department and the High Commission of Human Rights in Iraq - Monitoring Department implements preventive disinfection and sterilization campaign in the Juvenile prisonin Baghdad / al-Mansour area of Al-Tubji.
The campaign included the implementation of all the requirements for the general disinfection of the public facilities inside the prison, which included public administration rooms, public service facilities in the various buildings in the prison and the resting area for detainees and convicts, as well as the Medication/first aidbuilding. The team used sodium hypochlorite at a concentration of 4.5%, while the mixing ratios were 1 : 20.
The team completed all the extensive sterilization of the communal cells, shared bathrooms and main corridors using sodium hypochlorite with the same above concentration and a ratio of approximately 1:10.
The number of beneficiaries of detainees, convicts, and employees was more than 925.
The campaign is a part of Peace and Freedomplan that focuses on major outbreaks of the virus, especially public and crowded places.
One of the most important positive points in this campaign, Sergio de Mello immediate response team for disasters and crises SDMT/SIRT in coordination with the prison administration and prison control staff provided a humanitarian initiative, which is involve four of the young convicts by providing logistical support to our team, where they carried out the work within the team, interspersed with periods of communication with the team members in order to raise their morale and give them hope that there is plenty of time to meet good people in the future and that there are many who make mistakes and complete their lives positively in the service of their country and society, which they welcomed.
