
Under the auspices of the United Nations System Staff College, UNSSC, and with an official invitation, Peace and Freedom Organization participated in the forum that dealt with a comprehensive presentation of the efforts and experiences that adopt the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2250 at the global, regional and national levels.
At the Middle East level, the two experiences from Jordan and Iraq were presented. The forum attended by a large number of representatives of UN agencies, international organizations and officials from the Global Coalition for Youth, Peace and Security, PFO presented its effort since 2016 until now and what have been implemented so far to pave the way for YPS in Iraq after all it was met with great interest from the international community.
It is worth noting that peace and freedom, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund UNFPA and the Swedish Academy FBA, and with the support of the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Youth in Kurdistan Region, are in the final stages of launching a National Coalition for Youth, Peace and Security in Iraq, which is planned to be launched in December 2020. The coalition will be the starting platform for the Iraqi youth to build bridges with relevant Iraqi authorities to convey their opinions, demands and aspirations.
