09/10/2020 In the city of Erbil, a joint training course was completed for the advocacy teams from the Peace, Freedom and Al-Masalla Organizations.

The course began on October 4 and continued on October 8. Advocacy teams from the Peace Committees project of both organizations participated in the session.

The training was led by the international trainer "Kholoud Al-Khattab" who played a major role in the success of the course in terms of methodology and quality.

Training was a direct factor in bringing the two teams 'views closer to urgent issues, and also the training had a direct role in the two teams' agreement on a unified campaign related to the role of women in decision-making and political participation, sustainable development in all its economic and social axes.

The new techniques of training have had an effective role in getting acquainted with the foundations of "advocacy" in terms of theory and practice.

Participants worked in workshops that included:

1- Presenting the previous experiences of advocacy campaigns. Campaign results, lessons and experiences. Complementary and non-complementary aspects of previous campaigns.

2- Discussing suggested themes for the unified campaign.

3- Agreeing on one axis, a unified strategy, a unified implementation plan for the peace committee centers, which includes details and steps of a local and national character.

4- The implementation plan has a modernizing nature compared to previous campaigns, especially in terms of media and public opinion mobilization, as videos and social media sites will have a direct role in sending the campaign's goals to the community. Mobilization will focus on getting the attention of both supporters and non-supporters of the campaign.

5- The implementation plan started its initial steps from the last two days of training. The start of the campaign is already underway and the end of the campaign will be in the last month of the “Local Peace Committees” project.
