On 3 November 2020, the Soran Youth Council organized a monthly dialogue at the Soran University Language Center in the presence of council members and a number of guests from university teachers and researchers. The participants discussed the issue of youth unemployment, particularly among young people in Soran. The economic situation in the Kurdistan Region, the unemployment problems and its effects, and the way to reduce the unemployment rate were  most important topics discussed.

The Soran Youth Council consists of a group of young people in the Soran area who are supported by the Peace and Freedom Organization. The council is working to spread awareness and empowerment of young people and increase young people's participation in the decision-making and leadership process.
