On December 9, 2015 The UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 2250 on “Youth, Peace and Security,” which is the first of its kind aiming to enhance youth participation in peace building and decision-making processes. He urged member states to consider ways to increase the comprehensive representation of youth in decision-making processes at all levels to prevent and resolve conflicts.

 

On the fifth anniversary of the issuance of the resolution and on 10th December 2020 Peace and Freedom Organization, and by working side by side with its international partners, launches the National Coalition for Youth, Peace and Security in Iraq to implement the provisions of this resolution, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund and the Swedish Academy Folk Bernadotte and under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Iraq.
