Project Summary
Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) is a partnership of 50 civil society organizations based in Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria and Uganda (with supporting lobby and advocacy in Europe and the USA). This international, interreligious partnership is implementing a five-year program (2021-2025) in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to further peaceful and just societies where all enjoy Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB). Peace and Freedom Organization is Implementing the project in Kirkuk governorate.
The basis of the program is JISRA’s conviction that Freedom of Religion and Belief and interfaith dialogue are essential and integral to the realization of peaceful and just societies. In addition, diverse religious actors, including women and youth, can and need to play an important role in this process as change makers. JISRA believes their voices must be heard.
Main Tasks
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Support planning, development and implementation of JISRA Program in the targeted area.
- Coordinate with beneficiary identification through a consultative community process
- Having a role in organizing and facilitating dialogue activities or meetings, workshops, and visiting local authorities, civil society and communities in efforts to prevent violent conflict and promote cooperative approaches to peace building process.
- Assist PFO in implementing activities.
- Updating the PFO on local issues such as news related to the project topic, disputes, public statements of leaders, security updates, etc through weekly reports that should be sent from FP to the Project Manager.
- Direct coordination with 25 stakeholders in Shekhan and supporting youth and women teams in order to organize and implement social media/inclusion campaigns.
- Travel to Erbil or the project location when needed.
- Working as a team and respecting diverse community.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
REQUIERMENTS/ QULFICATIONS & PREFERED SKILLS
- The candidate must be exclusively from the Shekhan district. Resumes from non-residents of the Shekhan district will not be considered.
- The candidate must not be a government employee or employed by any official institution.
- The candidate must be fully dedicated to performing their duties.
- The FP should have minimum 1 year experience working with NGOs.
- Having experience in Freedom of religious and believe program is an advantage.
- FP should have knowledge in gender sensitive issues and working towards gender equality.
- Educational background: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration or any other related field
- Language skills: (Kurdish, Arabic mandatory, English).
