Duty Station:                          Erbil and Mosul

 JOBDESCRIPTION


The primary function of the Social researcher isleading a research, which includes;  developing implementation plan, designing and conducting the research, drafting the first and last version of the research report. In collaboration with a group of surveyors, the researcher will be committed in the data collection processand uses a variety of methods to collect, analyze and organize information and data, which s/he will then present to others as a written report and oral presentation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:


1. Types of research

Your research could focus on a range of topics, including, but not limited to:

  • Conflict drivers and its impact on the relationship between ethnic and religious groups in Nineveh plain.
  • Cross Faith Dialogue – Means for Conflict Mitigation,
  • Peace building and social cohesion initiatives in Nineveh plain.

2. Reporting

·         Researcher should provide weekly progress report to the project manager.

4. Skills:

You'll need to have:

·         experience in qualitative methodologies and using different research techniques.

·         Excellent interpersonal, team working and communication skills.

·         Report writing skills.

·         Accuracy and attention to detail, aflexible approach to work, with the ability to work on different research projects,

·         Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

·         Excellent language skills in Arabic and English are required.

Qualifications:


• Advanced degree in Social sciences or other relevant field of study preferred
• Experience in emergencies and conflict areas strongly preferred
• Excellent decision making skills
• Team player and strong communication skills, both oral and written.
