    Baghdad, January 29, 2025 - The Diwani Order Committee 241009 held its second meeting in the capital, Baghdad, with the presence of the representative of PFO as a member of the committee, where a small team was assigned to formulate the national strategy for youth, peace and security in Iraq, within the framework of implementing Security Council Resolution 2250.

  • Empowering Women: First Vocational Training Course In Mosul
    The Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO), in collaboration with Women for Women International, launched a specialized Vocational training on 12/1/2025 in Mosul. The course, attended by 15 women from different areas of Mosul, focuses on equipping participants with practical skills in the cake, pastries, and sweets industry. The training will continue until 27/1/2025, providing participants with a valuable 12-day opportunity to learn and practice essential skills.

  • Towards a National Plan for Youth, Peace, and Security in Iraq
    On December 23 and 24, 2024, the national committee tasked with drafting the national plan for youth, peace, and security held its first meeting and a consultative dialogue session, with high attendance from committee members and participation from a diverse group of youth from various Iraqi provinces, within the framework of enhancing the role of youth in peacebuilding and security, based on UN Security Council Resolution 2250.

  • Return to Sinjar: The Yazidi Community’s Journey Home and the Challenges Ahead
    On January 23, 2024, the Council of Ministers of the Iraqi Government adopted a decision to close all internally displaced persons (hereafter referred to as IDP) camps in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (hereafter referred to as KRI) by July 31, 2024. According to the Government of Iraq (hereafter referred to as GoI), this decision is intended to encourage the safe and voluntary return of IDPs to their places of origin, as part of a broader policy to end displacement in Iraq, including the KRI.

The project, which has an implementation period of four years, began in July 2016. A number of researchers from PFOK have conducted a study of the project between July and December of 2016. By using a mixed methods approach, this study tries to reveal the workers’ conditions and the freedom of association and unions in a legal and social framework.
